Nube is designed to be simple to use while providing powerful privacy and data sovereignty features.

What is Nube?

Nube is a Sovereign Personal Cloud. Unlike Google Drive or Dropbox, Nube doesn’t store your files on someone else’s computer. It creates a private, encrypted network between your own devices and people you trust.

Key Concepts

  • Nodes: Every instance of Nube is a “node.” Your laptop, your phone, and your home server are all nodes.

  • The Fabric: The private network formed by your nodes.

  • CIDs (Content Identifiers): Every file in Nube has a unique fingerprint (hash). If two files are identical, they have the same CID and only one copy is stored.

  • Sovereignty: You own your keys. No one else can read your data.

Your First Run

  1. Start the daemon: Open your terminal and run:

    nube start

  2. Access the Dashboard: Open your web browser and go to http://127.0.0.1:9090.

  3. Check Connection: Use the CLI to see if you are connected to the network:

    nube status
